FAQ

  • Will there be an internal exam?

No one is ever required to have an internal exam in our office. Our evaluation is intended to provide us with the most information possible, to assist in resolving your symptoms. We are a trauma-informed clinic and we will provide you with multiple options for your evaluation, so that you can choose what you are most comfortable with.

  • What if I'm on my period?

We see individuals all throughout their cycle, including during menstruation. If you’re strongly opposed to internal work during your period, we can sill work together and modify our treatment approach for that day.

  • Do I need a doctor's referral?

No. Florida is a direct access state which means you can come directly to pelvic floor therapy without seeing a physician first. After 30 days, we will inform your physician/midwife/NP of your plan of care.

  • How often will I need to come?

We usually start off seeing patients every week or every other week, for the first few visits. Once our patients see consistent improvements, we space visits out further.

  • Is telehealth an option?

Yes! Many individuals do well with virtual therapy and this allows us to work with you if you’re not local. Virtual visits can be especially helpful when sickness and/or childcare poses a barrier. Check out our options HERE

  • How many people will I be working with?

We believe in continuity of care and, therefore, you’ll always be working with the same pelvic floor therapist at each visit. We do not believe in passing you off to aides/assistants or techs like in other clinics.
